Rimowa has developed this latest line which is up to 26% lighter than the classic Salsa series but just as strong and robust. Constructed with ultra light weight Polycarbonate, the series will return to its original shape if compressed automatically as soon as the pressure is released. Best carry-on ever
PROS: I now have had a Rinowa model just like this one, and found it to be the ideal suitcase. I should state that I hardly ever check a suitcase, and will take transcontinental trips of up to 2 weeks with everythingin my Rinowa carryon plus some hand luggage. That is because it is extraordinary how much one can fit in this small suitcase, thanks to a superb zipper that easily closes even if one has overfilled the suitcase, thanks to the elastic interior mesh that keeps everything in place, thanks to the mono-column that takes up little room inside the suitcase, and thaks to the lack of interior dividers. When one arrives to one's desrtination, opens the suitcase, and everything is in view and accessible, so one doesn't have to rumage around. The lock works surprisingly well. and the suitcase, light as it is, has proved to be extremely durable. Furthermore, when I had a problem with one of the wheels because of damage sustained in the airport's luggage mover, I went to the Rinowa store in NYC and they (a) replaced the wheel for free and (b) showed me how I could replace a wheel on my own should something like that happen again. I strongly recommend this lightweight suitcase for any seasoned traveller who likes to have a practical an effortless carry-on.

CONS: The proportions of the suitcase differ someone from the US norm for carry-ons. It is a dash wider (15 rather than 14") and it is not as thick (only about 8").. In my years of travel inside and outside the US I have never been stopped, however, and, on the plus side, I find the fact that it is only 8" thick makes it easy to store your coat in the upper compartment of the plane immediately above the suitcase, inconveniencing no one else. The other "con" is that, unlike some cloth suitcases with lots of expandable outside zippered compartments, you cannot transform the suitcase into a much bigger one. Everything has to fit inside the hard shell. So that imposes a certain amount of discipline.

Why is the color different
PROS: It's Rimowa. The quality must be good.

CONS: The color of the one I got is different from your picture. The color should be like your picture; however, the one I received was darker than others.

Everything I ever wanted in a suitcase
PROS: I purchased this after many years dealing with heavy, cumbersome suitcases. It is incredibly light, yet still manages to be more spacious than any other carry-on I have used. I think this is partially due to the single handle. I like the clamshell design since it allows me to pack clothing so that everything is visible at a glance (KonMari). Additionally, the way the compartments zip allows for more items to be put between the two sections if necessary, and also makes clothing less likely to shift around. It does not contain much in the way of organization, but I like having the freedom to decide if I want extra compartments (and weight), or not. As for the color, it's certainly feminine but not so loud as to be garish. Slightly more pink in person than on the site.

CONS: I have not traveled with it yet and so cannot comment on its durability, but the polycarbonate feels a bit more flexible than I was expecting.
