Traveled for 2 weeks abroad out of this bag
PROS: This is the perfect carry on bag. Well made, can fit everything you need for a week away, lightweight, and rolls nice and easy in all directions. I've been using mine for 3 years with no wear and tear, I love it so much I purchased this one for my Mother to use on our next trip.

tiny suitcase
PROS: appearance, light weight

CONS: The carry-on size is significantly smaller than the carry-on suitcase I already have. That's because the wheels take up about an extra 4-5 inches. For me, this makes it useless as a travel suitcase.

Pretty close to the (ever elusive) PERFECT bag -- for a fantastic price
PROS: I am an over-average age woman who travels a lot and refuses to check a bag. I had a broken wrist many years ago that almost always becomes a problems with handling heavy things. But, I DO NOT CHECK BAGS when I fly. I have been burned too many times with luggage arriving several days late, or never, items missing from my bag after picking it up on the carousel, and suffering with no clothes or toiletries after being snowed in at an airport overnight. I want my bag near me in transit, not checked and somewhere in Lost Bag Heaven. So I need light luggage sized for international travel that I can easily handle both going down a crowded aircraft aisle and hoisting overhead in Into train storage. I wanted a bag under 5 pounds. Although I have seen this bag (the 22") advertised anywhere from 4.9 lbs to 5.5 lbs, the bag I received weighs 4.9 lbs according to my luggage scale. With a 16 lbs limit, every pound lighter the bag is a pound more of my stuff I can carry....or a pound less that I have to be a pack mule for on trips. II LOVE the weigh and quality construction of this bag. But more than that, I love the wheels. Having had many bags of various kinds over the years, not only is this the lightest per size, but the wheels work the best of any spinners I have owned and used. I can push this bag fully filled along the side of me (with the bag turned the narrow direction) with absolutely no strain on my wrist and arm whatsoever. I haven't been able to do that with any other bag I have owned. This one is a dream. I will also note here that Lipault gives real exterior dimensions that include measuring the wheels of the bag just like the airlines measure. Not all airlines do. Many bag manufacturers report the hold of the bag size as external dimensions and leave off the wheels; Lipault gives the real exterior dimensions of bags INCLUDING THE WHEELS. I appreciate that kind of honesty. I will also note that of all the other bags I have owned or researched (which was a lot since I am planning a 2-month trip), the other bags as light or lighter than this bag have reviews of having been ripped if checked. I have seen no reviews of this happening to a Lipault. And in examining the constructions, I would feel totally safe in checking it if I ever needed to a the last flight home (the only time I have checked a bag in the last 30 years). The IT bags, which are a bit lighter than this Lipault, I would not have the same trust in checking. The final things I really like is the color and the overall look of the bag. It is pleasant, not exactly bright. I could likely identify it if lost or stolen as a "teal Lipault", it is just girly enough that most luggage thieves (which I have read are primarily men) might choose a different bag, and yet it is neutral enough that it does not scream "TOURIST HERE". It is a very understated bag visually that does a very good job of shedding rain in bad weather. I went through a downpour on my first trip with it and absolutely nothing insides got damp. I am going to also add here that I had been shopping this bag and found an unbeatable deal on Luggage Pros website. I got this bag for about a third of it's real retail--and I seriously cannot find a bag to match this weight and quality even for $500-$600.

CONS: In my ongoing quest for the perfect bag, this is the closest I have found to date. BUT I would change a couple of things. First, the darling lock that came with it does not work at all. No way to re-set the code. The instructions are awful. Second, I would like a second exterior pocket for tickets. In a perfect world it would be RFID-blocking. And third, I would opt for the compression straps inside to be installed at diagonals rather than straight across the clothes since that would give a great deal more options for packing style. But these three things in no way deflate the absolute glee I have packing and traveling in this adorable bag. LOVE it.
