Ultra-durable, ultra-versatile, and ultra-light. Need another bag? The innovative construction allows you to zip off the front gear bag from the polycarbonate back shell and use the morphing technology to create a second full-size bag. That's right, we're talking TWO carry-on sized travel bags. It's a game-changer.

FANTASTIC
PROS: I can say unequivocally that this bag does NOT tip over. I've packed it with 4 pairs of shoes, multiple packing cubes, and toiletries as well as an iPad and multiple other items. I have not really used the backpack feature too much because I haven't needed it. The wheels are simply fantastic. They go over curbs and cobblestones quite easily (although I have only tested it in Shockhoe Bottom cobblestones in Richmond, VA). I have not yet separated the backpack or tried to use this as a carryon. I suspect I might have some trouble because I do have a tendency to overpack it. It holds a lot of stuff. I have packed clothes in the bottom compartment (in packing cubes- 2 large ones), one pair of shoes, then used the compression straps to compress the clothes, and placed toiletries on top. I have placed 3 other pairs of shoes in the backpack portion. Or I have placed all the shoes and the toiletries in the top portion. I have also put hairbrushes and hair styling tools in the pockets in the front.

I am planning to take this on a 10 day trip to Italy. Now that I have discovered packing cubes and am familiar with compression straps, I do not think I will have any trouble.

Measuring the hard portion of the bag, it is right under 22 inches (including wheels). It is definitely more than 9 inches wide when packed full, but this is not the bag's fault. I haven't needed to use the compression straps on the backpack, but I think this should work to reduce the size. And of course the backpack can be zipped off.

CONS: In order to fully separate the backpack, you need to unclip the stabilization bar at the bottom. I seem to have poor grip strength, and I have had difficulty unclipping it. My husband has had no such difficulty. The other clips on the bag aren't as hard to undo. I suspect these are difficult on purpose.

PROS: Love the flexibility this luggage provides. We bought it for our son as he heads off into the world. Hopefully, the double space will allow him to save on luggage fees as he travels.
