Traveling Accross the Border? Don't Forget Your Passport
If you are planning on traveling to any of our neighbors to the north or south, be sure you have a valid form of identification with you. Today was Day One of the federal government's new border crossing initiative. All U.S. Citizens and legal aliens are required to produce one of the several forms of identification (passport, passport card, enhanced driver's license or "trusted traveler" card).
This is just a reminder for those of you who are planning trips to Mexico and/or Canada in the future. Today those, travelers without proper identification were not turned away, but instead given a flier describing the procedure for next time. In the future, however, you will likely be held up at the border without proper identification.
