No, this bag does not come with a side handle. Yes, this qualifies for free shipping and there is no tax shipping to MD. This bag also does not have a suit holder, nor does it have a mesh pocket on the inside top of the bag. The bag will be slightly smaller on top, but not enough to make a significant difference. -

Solid All-Around Bag for Mid-Length Trips
Overall Rating

Durability
Functionality
Appearance
Pros:
Very rugged, good-looking bag (easy to find on carousels), and "full" expandability (2 1/2" top to bottom, not just on an angle), means it holds a LOT more than it seems--easily enough for a 5-7 day trip without tripping airlines' 50 lb limit, as the 28" model might do. Plenty of pockets for small stuff.
Cons:
Drink compartment and carabiner don't seem very useful on a large bag (that will be checked at airports rather than carried on); front handle feels a bit unwieldy for a bag this size; no add-a-bag strap!
