Q
Aside from the materials used in construction what are the differences between the Crew 8 and the Platinum 7? Asked by Derek
A
The main differences between the Crew 8, and the Platinum 7 is the construction. The Platinum 7 is slightly better designed with more bells and whistles. Also the Platinum 7 has a Worry Free warranty, which covers airline damage, which the Crew 8 does not. Answered by Emma on January 23, 2012
Q
Does the crew 8 have interior pocket in the lid? Asked by Vicky
A
Yes, Travelpro Crew 8 22" Expandable Rollaboard Suiter has a mesh pocket on the interior of the lid. Answered by Emma on January 13, 2012
Q
Can I pack this bag for a four day trip? Asked by Saran
A
You could pack the Travelpro Crew 8 22" Expandable Rollaboard Suiter for a four day trip. However, it would really depend on how much you want to pack and how thick of clothes. The 2.5" expansion would help in allowing more room to pack. Answered by Makenzie on January 19, 2012
Q
What are the interior dimensions of the 22" crew bag? What is the height from the floor? Asked by Charlie
A
The Travelpro Crew 8 22" Expandable Rollaboard Suiter has a packing capacity of 2,772 cubic inches. The height of the bag is 22"; however, when the handle is extended the height of the bag can be at 38" or 43" depending on where one extends the handle to. Answered by Emma on November 30, 2011

Q
Will the TravelPro Crew 8 22" wheeled upright fit "wheels first" in overhead bins? Asked by Gary
A
I would expect the Travelpro Crew 8 22" Expandable Rollaboard Suiter to fit in the overhead bin on most airlines. However, I would also recommend speaking with your specific airline, because airline restrictions vary for each airline. Answered by Emma on November 21, 2011
Q
Travelpro Crew 8 22. Will it carry and protect an Apple Pro in the front zipper pockets. Padded??? and size. Asked by Carol
A
No, The Travelpro Crew 8 22" Expandable Rollaboard Suiter is not designed with padding in the front zipper pockets to carry a laptop. Answered by Emma on September 30, 2011
Q
You sell the Travelpro crew 8 22" wheeled upright expandabe rollerboard suiter carry on,Travelpro tpro bold 22" wheeled upright carry on and the Eagle Creek cloudstream 22" wheeled upright carry on. Of the 3, which has the most cubic inch main compartment capacity by comparison and which of the 3 has the the best warranty? In conclusion, do they all meet the most accepted airline carry on spec of 22x14x9 please? Asked by Sid Hardwicke
A
Out of those 3 I would say the Eagle Creek Cloudstream 22" would have the most interior space than the 2 Travelpro's would. Eagle Creek has a pretty simplistic interior, which allows for maximum packing space. The Eagle Creek Cloudsteam is going to come with the best warranty as well, covering anything that could happen to the bag, including airline damage. Additionally, they would all fall within the standard carry on guideline of 45 linear inches. Answered by Kyle on April 29, 2011
Q
What is the cubic inches of the travelpro 22 inch crew 8 capacity as compared to the delsey helium fusion 2.0 21 inch carry on? Asked by Tom
A
The cubic inches of the Travelpro are 2,772 inches cubed compared to the Delsey which is 2,499 inches cubed. The Travelpro will have a slightly larger capacity than the Delsey will. Answered by Kyle on April 27, 2011
Q
How much does this piece weigh? Asked by Barbara
A
This bag weighs 8.7 lbs. Answered by Kyle on March 1, 2011
Q
Will the 22",24",26" upright suiters all fit inside each other and then inside a 28" suiter for storage? Asked by Louise
A
Yes, those bags will be able to be nested inside of each other. You may have to expand 1 of the bags to make it fit comfortably, but they will fit. Answered by Kyle on April 27, 2011

Great Bag but a Few Flaws

Pros: It's a great everyday suitcase good for trips of a few days or even a week if you pack sparingly. The telescping handle is a big improvement over the early Crew this replaced, and the larger footrests make it less prone to tip over when loaded. It rolls easily and feels very sturdy. Most of the pockets are useful, though I could do without the bottle holder.

Cons: The telescoping handle takes up more interior room, leaving an irregular volume. The hang-a-bag plastic clip system is a major downgrade from the metal keyhole system on my prior bag. It's very hard to engage and doesn't carry a lot of weight. Travelpro sent a replacement clip base with no instructions on how to install, not very helpful. The shoe pockets in the interior are of minimal use.

Pros: It looks great and function very nicely as with all TravelPro Crew bags.

Cons: The new design is appealing, but I didn't find the most outer pocket as functional as the Crew 6, which this one replaced.

Pros: It is a very nice looking box, rolls smoothly, feels solid and has a long handle - critical for someone who is 6'8"!

Cons: The suiter is disappointing, and I will not use it. I travel every week, for 2-3 nites, and can pack 2 suites (extra-long ones!) in a suite cover, which I role into any carry-on and it stays un-wrinkled. The built-in suiter in this is great for 2 shirts, but thats about it.

Pros: Nice looking design. great expansion capability. Great front pockets

Cons: The unit is very poorly designed - when you fill it the support on the bottom will not keep it from falling over. Serious design flaw. I bought this based on reviews - what a bunch of knuckleheads!! Nobody in their right mind that travels would recommend this piece. DO NOT BUY!!!!

Pros: This suitcase is a very good product for the price. It is a nice looking bag with good features like zipped pockets, etc. But it primarily is a reasonably built and designed suitcase for what you pay.

Cons: Travelpro suitcases are nice products, but they aren't really made for people in the travel industry. For those people who travel for a living, the warranty is only a year. If you get more than a year out of a Travelpro, it's a bonus. However, for the price, you can buy a new one every two or three years and still be ahead of buying a more expensive suitcase that will last longer. I've owned at least 20 Travelpro suitcases through the years, and will see if this one is any different. I doubt it.

Pros: I travel 2-3 times per month. I needed a slightly larger carry-on roller. I have had the 20" TravelPro for about 8 years, it's been all over the world and was very sturdy and reliable. I expect the same out of this slightly larger one. I love it already and look forward to the next 8+ years!

Pros: The design is very classy, and somewhat unique with how the seam on top (when standing up) is designed. It looks, and feels high quality, and rolls nice. The protection for the wheels is great too, and this bag seems like it will be able to withstand the rigors of European walkways. Great item at a great price, so I decided to get the 26" one as well!!

Pros: This is a nice and useful bag. It holds enough for several days and the outside pockets are handy.

Cons: The extendable handle broke after less than a year. I have had a replacement handle on back order for 10 WEEKS now and keep getting the runaround from Travelpro. So even though this is a nice bag, I can't recommend it. The bag is next to useless without the handle, and so it is now sitting in my closet while I use my old Samsonite.

Upgrade from older model

Pros: Having the suit/ shirt sleeve for wrinkle-free trips is great, and required even for overnight trips. I think having two poles for the handle mechanism is superior to a single since it is much more stable for wheeling along a backpack or other bag without it constantly falling off.

Pros: Large size. Love the removable suit sleeve. The big plus is that you can replace almost ALL the parts on this bag yourself, including the wheel, zippers, bolts, and handles. Most rolling luggage has handles that are riveted. The handles on this one are bolted in place.

Cons: Handle was a little loose when we got the bag. Also, I prefer the old design where the handles lied flat because they took up less space inside the bag. The biggest downside is that this bag is quite a bit heavier than most I've seen.

Pros: The luggage itself is well made. I had purchased one of TravelPro's briefcases a few months ago from Staples, and I've been impressed with it in terms of durability, features, and comfort. I needed a suitcase for general travel, and chose this piece because of the suiter feature. The suiter held up to its claim - 2 suits fit with jackets only (adding the pants was too snug for my tastes), and 1 suit (pants included) is perfect. No wrinkles whatsoever. Like the briefcase, I'm impressed with the features - TravelPro seems to have traded unnecessary bells and whistles for features you actually use. Would definitely recommend this piece.

I know this review is for the luggage, but I have to comment about Luggage Pros. This was my first experience with them, and I'm absolutely amazed. I ordered the luggage on a Saturday night, and it arrived on my doorstep 3 days later. Unfortunately, the metal logo on the front was slightly loose. I don't think that's a regular occurrence, more a one-off glitch from the assembly line, because the logo on the new one as well as my briefcase are impressively secure. But when I called to report it, the customer service I received was stellar. I received a return label immediately via email, and within hours of the label being scanned by UPS, I received notice of the replacement shipment. That also arrived on my doorstep within 3 days. This company has been fantastic, and because of their service, I'd recommend not only this bag but use of their company to anyone I talk to.

Cons: Again, I think the loose logo was a one-off, and is absolutely no indication of their quality, because the suitcase as a whole is more than impressive. My only other complaint is the anti-tip feature. There is a clip on hook to attach a purse or briefcase to, and my briefcase made the suitcase tip immediately. Not a deal breaker, as the briefcase also has a back strap to slip over the handle of the main piece (which doesn't tip). The hook would be better used for a small purse or lightweight gym bag.

Pros: I needed suiter and it has nice solution for that. Seems to be good quality but we will see on next several overseas trips what it is worth.

Cons: I would like to point out that Travelpro company puts misleading information about the weight of this particular bag (Crew 8, 22" , carry on). They state that the weight is 8.7 lb and that is simply not true. I just bought this bag counting on light weight, but the bag (completely empty, without any accessories) weighs 9.4 lb. on my scale. Travelpro tells me excuses that the weight is without wheels, then that it is with wheels but without accessories. Anyway, there is no way this bag weighs 8.7 lb. Please check it for yourself and be aware that you customers might complain about deceiving them. The company I bought this carry-on from weighted the bag and confirmed that the weight is more then 8.7 lb.
