Pros: I am a big subscriber to the philosophy that you can enjoy yourself much more, without being idealistic and myopic, when you know that you have taken one further step of deterrence to protect your things while traveling. This device is the perfect size for all my high cost valuables, save a laptop, that don't necessarily walk with me when I'm in a hostel or even nice hotel. I know that I can secure it to the door hinge of my room and when I come back it is far more likely to be there than otherwise. Nothing is theft-proof, but this will make you no more than person 99 on that day's list of the thief's top 100 possible victims.

Cons: Little pricey and little hefty/stiff. But those are unfortunately necessary evils in my opinion for this application.
