The bottom of the right-hand side in the photo appears to have a seam, or zipper, running down it. Is that a hanging/garment component?

No, the zipper down the middle of the right hand side of the Hartmann PC4 32" Expandable Mobile Traveler Spinner allows repair centers to have access to the built in handle. This zipper is not meant to be opened regularly. -
